G REIGNS, a Taiwanese HTC subsidiary and 5G RAN solutions provider, announced on February 26, 2025, that it has installed its own local 5G network and edge cloud VR solutions at Nissan's production facility. These solutions will bring Nissan's design team an immersive VR environment with high stability, security, and low latency.
For many years, Nissan has integrated 3D models into virtual reality environments with HTC VIVE VR technology for intuitive evaluation of vehicle interior and exterior designs. However, as the complexity of automotive design increases, the need for faster, safer, and more scalable collaboration tools has grown, and G REIGNS' solution addresses these needs by combining a local 5G network with edge cloud VR to create a seamless wireless design environment. The company says it will enable a seamless wireless design environment.
HTC noted the solution's key features as "high-speed, low-latency connectivity," "enhanced security," "scalable collaboration," "real-time processing," "open RAN architecture," and "device compatibility." Adrian Tung, GM of G REINS, said, " This breakthrough technology has not only accelerated product development, but also brought a new collaborative model for communication in design and development," he commented.
