On August 6, 2025, Celona, a US private 5G operator, announced AerFlex, the industry's first cloud-controlled private 5G platform consisting only of APs (access points). By eliminating the need for local servers and complex integration, the service can be deployed in a matter of hours. Companies will be able to deploy private 5G with unprecedented speed and cost efficiency.
The company explained that this new architecture will allow it to flexibly provide private 5G to small and medium-sized sites and remote sites, which have been difficult to deploy in the past. Cargill, a major U.S. food company, has already begun a trial implementation of AerFlex at multiple sites, where it is being used to streamline manufacturing processes, improve supply chain efficiency, and automate forklifts in warehouses, according to the company.
