Finland's Nokia and the U.S.-based NVIDIA announced on October 28, 2025, a strategic partnership in the development of next-generation mobile networks and communications infrastructure with AI at its core NVIDIA will invest $1 billion (about 150 billion yen) in Nokia to accelerate the construction of AI native 6G era accelerating the construction of networks.

The partnership is expected to add commercial AI-RAN products powered by NVIDIA's technology to Nokia's RAN portfolio. Operators will be able to build AI-powered 5G-Advanced and 6G networks on the NVIDIA platform.

U.S. telecommunications giant T-Mobile is also participating in the two companies' efforts, planning to verify AI-RAN technology as part of 6G development and confirm improvements in network performance and efficiency in a demonstration test scheduled to begin in 2026.

Justin Hotard, CEO of Nokia, stated that "the next leap forward in telecommunications will not only be the transition from 5G to 6G, but a fundamental redesign of the network to enable AI-enabled connectivity from the data center to the edge," and that "accelerating AI-RAN innovation will enable everyone can access the AI data center," he commented.
