Samsung Electronics Korea demonstrated its AI-RAN technology integrated into an actual system at the Silicon Valley Future Wireless Summit 2025 held in Mountain View, California, U.S., on November 13, 2025 (local time). AI-RAN technology is the core of the 6G era, and the company showed that it is aiming for leadership in this area.
The Summit was held under the theme "New Possibilities Opened by Artificial Intelligence (AI) Networks," and was attended by approximately 100 participants, including leaders from telecommunications carriers, manufacturers, government agencies, and academia from around the world. At the event, a demonstration of AI-RAN, in which base station equipment optimizes its operation in real time without human intervention, was shown, and discussions were also held on next-generation application areas where AI will create new value, such as AR/XR and ISAC (integration of communication and sensing).
In recent years, Samsung Electronics has expanded its collaboration with global partners, starting with Korean telecom operators such as KT, as well as Japan's Softbank and KDDI R&D Laboratories. In addition, the company has joined the Verizon 6G Innovation Forum, a global consortium leading the development and commercialization of 6G technology.
Integrating AI into communication systems can maximize both user experience and operational efficiency," said Jeong Jin-gu, Director of Samsung Research's Next Generation Communications Research Center, indicating that the company plans to further expand cooperation with domestic and overseas telecommunications carriers.
