Finnish telecommunications giant Nokia announced its new strategy and restructuring at an investor presentation (Capital Markets Day) on November 19, 2025. Among the issues presented was the possible sale of the "Enterprise Campus Edge" business, part of the company's private networking business for enterprises.

The reorganization classifies four business units into portfolio businesses: Enterprise Campus Edge, Fixed Wireless Access, Site Implementation and Outside Line Facilities, and Microwave Radio. Over the next 12 months, the company will consider the best options, including continued ownership, partnerships, and sales. In particular, CEO Justin Hotard made it clear that the "Enterprise Campus Edge" business, which specializes in on-site connectivity for businesses and factories, is "not a core business and we are not the best owner," and that the company is actively considering a sale.

On the other hand, Nokia is not exiting the private networking business entirely. It will continue to focus on large-scale private 5G solutions for mission-critical areas such as public safety, energy, and rail, and will continue to offer RAN products for carriers, other enterprises, and private network vendors.

CEO Hotard commented, "This is good business, but frankly, most of it is focused on system integration and solution delivery, which is different in nature from our core technology.
